Born in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri the youngest of 5, Dennis spent childhood moving as a military family. After his Dad retired they settled in Spokane, WA. While attending Lewis & Clark HS he had big interests in music and technology and began teaching himself to DJ. He also began getting a lot of comments on how I should pursue a radio career because they felt I had a VOICE for radio. He wasn't buying it at the time but continued to hone his skills as a DJ. In the mid 80's the family moved to Bremerton, WA when he also attended Skagit Valley Community College where he took his first shot at radio on the college’s station. 2 days a week quickly turned to 4 and a broadcasting class and eventually led to an internship at a country station in Mt. Vernon, WA where he was field reporting news. After a year he moved to Wasilla Alaska where he got his first on-air paying job on weekends and as a fill in on an adult contemporary station until it went completely automated. After that, Dennis came back to Bremerton and by luck met the owner of KITZ and was hired as a board operator and drove into more production work making commercials and station promos.
